In line with all Australian Financial Institutions under the Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (the Act), Betchoice is obligated to collect identification for the purposes of complying with the Act. The Act provides for Australian Government standards of identification for proof of name, date of birth and residential address. When opening an account with Betchoice, all clients consent to have their identification details used to attempt verification with Veda Advantage (a specialist company supplying services to assist firms to comply with the Act). To maximize the chances of success, clients must provide accurate identification details that will be matched against records including Drivers Licence & Electoral Rolls. Where Betchoice’s online verification attempt is unsuccessful, clients will be notified within 48 hours (except where public holidays may interfere) and will have 90 days from the date of opening (and prior to any withdrawal being processed) to satisfy the requirements of the Act.
